Unfinished Game is a Kannada horror short film written and directed by Prabu S, exploring themes of friendship, guilt, truth, and the consequences of unspoken secrets. Set largely within a hostel over a single night, the film follows five friends whose final evening together turns into a nightmare when a deadly game awakens the spirit of a deceased friend—forcing them to confront the truth behind her death.

The idea for Unfinished Game originated from a feature-length script that the director deeply believed in. To prove the strength of the concept and its cinematic potential, the story was first developed as a short film, serving as a pilot for the larger vision. The intention was to create elevated horror—rooted in local culture, emotion, and realism—while maintaining a global cinematic language.

The filmmaking journey was filled with challenges. Produced on a very limited budget, the project came together through the passion and commitment of a dedicated technical team. The cinematographer, editor, music director, and direction team contributed their talent with immense dedication, many working without remuneration, purely driven by belief in the story.

The film was shot in Bangalore on 15th October during severe weather conditions, when the city was under an orange alert due to heavy rains. Despite logistical difficulties and the inclusion of physically demanding rope action sequences, the entire shoot was completed within ten hours.

Unfinished Game was produced by Hemalatha and Vaibhav, whose unwavering support—both emotional and financial—made the film possible. Their belief sustained the project through every obstacle.

Targeted at audiences aged 18–40, Unfinished Game stands out as an emotionally driven horror film that blends fear with human vulnerability.
